Diary ↔ Splits sync
When using local storage, your Diary (expense ledger) is stored on this device only. Splits always use cloud storage because they're shared between multiple users. In local mode, split entries won't automatically appear in your local Diary — the sync between Splits and your Ledger is limited to cloud mode.
Quick guide — what should I pick?
Using only on this device?
Choose "This device only". Your data never leaves the browser. Great for personal, privacy-first tracking on a single device.
Using web + mobile app?
Choose "Sync to cloud". Sign in on any device to see all your expenses. Required if you also use the Finance Diary mobile app.
Want to split bills with friends?
Splits always require cloud storage. Switch to cloud mode to create groups, settle debts, and send split requests.
Want Rewards & Streak?
Rewards and streaks are powered by server-side security checks to prevent manipulation. Cloud mode is required to earn and track them.
